By The Daily Bharat Express (Digital-Desk): Telangana Assembly Election 2023 LIVE Updates, Voting is underway for Telangana Assembly Election 2023 as state witnesses three-cornered contest between Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). Polling to elect 119 members to Legislative Assembly started at 7 am. In Telangana, BRS is trying to retain power for 3rd consecutive term, while Congress and BJP fought tooth and nail to get into power. Top national leaders including PM Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi, and BRS supremo K Chandrasekar Rao campaigned to woo voters. The fate of 679 total seats across five states will be declared on Sunday.
Congress MP KC Venugopal says, “…Telangana people are also saying that Congress will sweep the election…We will win all the five states. That is what the general impression is…”
On the Supreme Court quashing the reappointment of Kannur University Vice-Chancellor, he says, “It’s a clear-cut verdict… Supreme Court has clearly observed in the verdict that the Minister was involved in the process of selecting the Vice Chancellor, which has not happened before.”
Congress said it brought to the notice of Chief Electoral officer Vikas Raj, Kavitha allegedly violating the poll code by appealing to the people to vote for the BRS. Asked about the complaint against Kavitha, CEO Raj said the matter has been referred to the District Election Officer (DEO).
The predictions of who wins how many seats in which states and which party suffers losses in the elections to five states – Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram – will start coming after 6:30 pm on Thursday after voting ends for Telangana assembly elections.
The final results for the five assembly elections to Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram will be declared on Sunday, December 3.
The pre-result predicts will provide a glimpse of the voting trends, public sentiment and potential outcomes in the five poll bound states. Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan voted in a single phase on November 7, 17 and 25. The polling in Chhattisgarh was held in two phases on November 7 and 17. Polling is underway in Telangana on Thursday till 6:00 pm.
