Story By The Daily Bharat Express (Auto-Desk) :Hyundai Motor India today announced the opening of bookings for the 2024 Hyundai Creta facelift for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The updated version of the mid-size SUV segment leader will be launched on January 16.
India Today was the first media organisation to report that the new Hyundai Creta facelift will be launched in 2024. The SUV can be booked at any Hyundai dealership or via Hyundai’s Click to Buy online platform.
The Hyundai Creta was initially launched in India in July 2015. Its immense popularity can be gauged from the fact that every third mid-size SUV sold in India is now a Hyundai Creta. As of now, over 950,000 units of the SUV have been sold in the domestic market.
The 2024 Creta facelift uses Hyundai’s global design language of ‘Sensuous Sportiness’. The SUV gets a new grille flanked by redesigned quad-beam LED headlamps. There are new LED positioning lamps, while the DRLs are connected by an LED strip. The taillights mimic the front LED DRL set-up and are a connected unit. Even the front and rear bumpers have been redesigned. The vehicle has new alloys as well. So far as the exterior is concerned, the SUV has been heavily updated.
Even inside the cabin, on the dash particularly, there are significant changes, the most important being an integrated infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster. There is a new touch display to operate HVAC functions, adding more premium-ness. The new Creta facelift gets a redesigned steering wheel as well. While the SUV has six airbags as standard, the top-spec variants have an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS).
Hyundai is offering the 2024 Creta facelift in six monotone color options — Atlas White, Abyss Black, Titan Grey, Ranger Khaki, Fiery Red and an all-new Robust Emerald Pearl. There is a single dual-tone color — Atlas White with Black Roof. The new Creta facelift is available in seven trims — E, EX, S, S(O), SX, SX Tech and SX(O).
Talking about the engine options, the 2024 Hyundai Creta has three motors on offer. The turbo petrol option makes a comeback in the form of the 1.5-litre Kappa Turbo GDi petrol unit (160PS and 253Nm). This engine is also employed by the 2023 Kia Seltos facelift. Then there are 1.5-litre MPi petrol (115PS and 144Nm) and 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel (116PS and 250Nm) options.
The new Hyundai Creta has four transmission options — 6-speed manual, intelligent variable transmission (IVT), 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) and 6-speed automatic transmission (AT).
The new Hyundai Creta facelift will take on the Kia Seltos facelift, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the upcoming Tata Curvy, among others. We expect the 2024 Hyundai Creta facelift price to be in the range of Rs 11 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
